WFA is an independent coaching organisation with connections to several professional clubs in the North West including Manchester United, Manchester City, Stoke City and Macclesfield Town.
Established in 2001, WFA’s highest quality coaching staff helps children to develop their own personal, social, physical and technical skills in the best possible environment. This is crucial at every stage from 18 months old to teens.
Scouts from professional Clubs are in regular attendance at our training sessions. As well as looking for the best young talent, they also provide WFA with equipment and invite players and coaches to use their state of the art facilities from time to time.
We have sent several of the best players at WFA to the Academies and Centres of Excellence at these Clubs and although only a very small number of players ever make it to pro standard, we are proud that some have signed for these Clubs and are making a career in professional football.
All the coaching staff at WFA are CRB checked.
WFA is also the main source of players for Wilmslow Town Football Club. WFA has formed Wilmslow Town FC in 2009 and the objective of both organisations is simple – once the youngsters at the Academy are ready and able, they can play for Wilmslow Town’s junior teams in the Timperley and District Football League.
Each year WFA forms teams of under 6, 7 and 8’s arranging for them to train together and play in friendlies and tournaments. Once they reach school year 3 we hold trials and select the best players to form the new under 9’s teams for Wilmslow Town. This has proved very successful so far with around 50 boys and girls progressing from WFA each year!
You will see the WFA logo emblazoned across the shirts of all the Wilmslow Town teams in recognition of our proud support of Wilmslow’s best junior club!
