After School Clubs inc. Covid 19 Policies and Procedures

We hope that you are and your family are all ok in these surreal times.

It’s been very testing times for us all I know and at WFA we have adapted and reshaped our business to cope with the many changes forced upon us.

We are back to operating at almost full pace again having launched our personal coaching and small group sessions for the summer holidays which have been fantastic and we recently brought our Summer Camp forward by a few weeks which is going well too. I think that the fact that football is an outdoor activity makes it much safer and less risk in terms of the virus spreading.

The next phase is getting back to school and particularly the after school football sessions from September.

I just wanted to let you know what we are proposing for a safe return having spoken to one or two head teachers and taking advice from the FA and incorporating what we’ve learned over the past month or so since we’ve been back to working with the children.

  • I propose that we’d start back on week commencing Monday 7th September, the week after the children return to school giving schools time to adjust and settle back to the “new normal”.
  • Forms have been sent out via tyhe schools via email
  • We will operate a very strict registration policy. If parents haven’t completed the registration form and handed it us prior to the first session starting then their child won’t be able to attend until we do receive a completed form.
  • We will initially only invite year 1 to 6 to sign up for our afterschool club until after Christmas. We will then invite reception children to join for spring term. This will reduce the amount of contact with the younger children who need more attention and of course, time to settle in. It will also free up our coaches to concentrate on the other year groups.
  • Any WFA employee feeling unwell will not be allowed to work at all and will of course take the necessary steps in line with government policy
  • We propose to split the children into year group bubbles so that children don’t mix with children from other year groups.
  • There will be no indoor activity at all. All sessions will be held outdoors.
  • If inclement weather, sufficient enough for us to have to cancel a session is forecast we will contact the parents as soon as possible to inform them that they will have to collect them from school at normal pick up time because we cannot use a classroom to entertain them as we have previously done. We would also ask the school to help contact the parents too. We can not offer refunds for any cancelled sessions but we will off a free place at our Saturday morning session instead.
  • All WFA coaches will have completed the Covid 19 online safety course.
  • We will agree a collection point with the school outside so that we can receive the children from the classroom and conduct a register. From there we can also help the younger children tie laces etc.
  • Only one coach will signing in at the office window and will inform the office of the members of WFA staff on the premises.
  • Children will be asked to use hand sanitiser before they start training provided by ourselves.
  • All equipment is to be washed down and disinfected by my team after each session back at our HQ.
  • Parents will not be allowed on the field of play and at the end of the session the coaches will hand over each child one by one to the parents who will be waiting nearby in a zone designated by the school.

We obviously won’t be able to give hard copies of the forms at this time as we aren’t currently in school. Parents should print off the form sent out from the school, fill it in and return it to the school office where we will collect them from (along with any cash or online payment confirmation) to make up the register.

We can’t wait to get back and resume our work with the school and the children and try to bring some normality back into their lives.

We run our popular after-school coaching clubs for pupils of all abilities at the following schools. Players need to wear kit suitable for all weather and shin pads are mandatory. Football boots as well as trainers are required too. to book your child onto the relevant course please download the attached booking form and hand it in to the relevant school office with payment prior to the first session.

Our coaches will always be on hand to help the children change.
