Meet some of the WFA coaches

Erik
A life long Manchester United fan and founder of Wilmslow Football Academy. An FA qualified coach, Erik works with all the age groups at the Academy and has worked with the Manchester City and Manchester United Junior Academies.

Erik also coaches two of Wilmslow Albion's Junior Football Clubs teams for whom his two son's play for. He is the Junior Team Coordinator responsible for the welfare and development of all the junior teams at Albion from the under 9's to the under 16's squads.

Antonakis
Antonakis is WFA's most experienced coach and has worked with players all over Europe. He is a full time coach with the Manchester City Academy and his son Angelo is a Manchester City reserve team player!

Anotakis is the centre's technical coach and works with the more advanced players although the beginners love him too. It could be the fact that he hands out chocolate to the winning team each week!

Andy Creech
Andy is fully qualified ski instructor and well as a football coach! This accounts for his snake hipped body swerves around defenders. Only problem is that he looks more like Eddy the Eagle crash landing once he gets into the box!

Andy is one of our longest serving Coaches and you'll see him at all the after school clubs in the area where he is a our Senior School 's Coach.

Tom
Tom a former Leeds United trainee and has a degree in Sport and Fitness. He says the best thing about working for WFA is the out door life, working with kids and checking out the good looking mums!

He says that the worst points are taking down the goals after training and his boss!

Tom also runs one of the under 8's teams who play at the Manchester City Soccer Sixes on a Friday night and the progress they have made under his guidance is superb. Most of the beginners who join WFA will start off training with Tom or Deano who are both accomplished junior coaches.

Josh
Our year 2 and 3 coach, Josh brings a different dimension to the Academy. Although he loves the beautiful game and has all the experience required, Josh is a rugby man and qualified rugby coach. He recently represented Wilmslow High School's A team at Twickenham in a national schools final!

He brings a unique quality to the Academy mixing football and rugby skills and movement which has obvious benefits to the children he works with.

Ben
Ben was trained at the greatest academy of them all - Manchester United. He won the FA Youth Cup with United in 1992 and lost in the final the following year. He also won three caps at under 21 level for England in 1996 before a knee injury cut his United career short.

He has since played for Huddersfield, Aberdeen and Blackpool and is now enjoying himself playing for Wilmslow Albion. He loves being one of the boys at WFA where he wants to coach and pass on his experience to the youngsters who hopefully will go on one day to achieve what he did.

Beedy
One of Erik's old team mates from the dim and distant past! Beedy works with the young six and seven year olds with a view to bringing through the next few under 9's teams for Wilmslow Albion.

Sadly Beedy was brought up to support Manchester City. Never mind, at least he can see the youngsters he works with week in week out win medals and trophies!

Beedy is also the manager of the Wilmslow Albion Vets (over35's) team so don't be surprised if you bring your youngster down on a Saturday morning and end up playing for the Albion Vets on the Sunday afternoon yourself!

"Deano"
Deano is one of our junior coaches learning his trade with WFA. He is a central defender with Wilmslow Albion and is currently on the books at Macclesfield Town, the club he supports.

Deano is one of the coaches with the very beginners at WFA looking after the development of the 4 - 6 year olds.

Callum
Callum has a wealth of experience in junior football that he passes down to the youngest members of WFA. Callum is currently bossing midfield with the youth team at Altrincham and is fighting for a place in the first team.

Playing for Wilmslow Albion, Callum was the youngest player ever to play for the 1st team in its 88 year history and with under 16's team he won more trophies than any other junior team player in Wilmslow.

He supports Manchester United and has enjoyed trial spells at Macclesfield Town, Stockport County, Manchester City and Oldham Athletic.

Danny Johnson
Danny is a former Barnsley trainee and currently plays for the Wilmslow Albion Youth Team. Danny comes from a strong football family and is indeed the younger brother of our very own Tom!

Danny is a WFA new boy but already is becoming as popular as his old brother with the kids. He is one of our "Mercurial Skills" coaches and reportedly holds the school boy record for the highest number of keepy upies in England! Dan fancies himself as bit of a free-styler so next time you see him challenge him to a trick or two!

Connor Wild
Another WFA new boy. Connor is learning his trade as a coach with WFA whilst studying for a B Tech in Sports at Wilmslow High.

Connor also plays for the Wilmslow Albion Youth Team as an uncompromising defender.
