Erik
A life long Manchester United fan and founder of Wilmslow Football Academy. An FA qualified coach, Erik works with all the age groups at the Academy and has worked with the Manchester City and Manchester United Junior Academies.
Erik also coaches two of Wilmslow Town Football Club's teams for whom his two sons play. He is the Team Coordinator responsible for the welfare and development of all the junior teams at Wilmslow Town from the under 9's to the under 18's squads.
Tom
Tom a former Leeds United trainee and has a degree in Sport and Fitness. He says the best thing about working for WFA is the outdoor life, working with kids and checking out the good looking mums!
He says that the worst points are taking down the goals after training and his boss!
Tom also runs one of the under 8's teams who play at the Manchester City Soccer Sixes on a Friday night and the progress they have made under his guidance is superb. Most of the beginners who join WFA will start off training with Tom or Deano who are both accomplished junior coaches.
Alex Brown
Currently the midfield general at Droylsden, Alex is our chief after school club coach. Alex was a trainee with Crewe before his move to the Bloods and is one of the most popular coaches at WFA.
Although an accomplished midfielder himself he says that he only joined WFA to learn the art of bossing the centre of the park from the master himself . . . Erik!
Ben
Ben was trained at the greatest academy of them all - Manchester United. He won the FA Youth Cup with United in 1992 and lost in the final the following year. He also won three caps at under 21 level for England in 1996 before a knee injury cut his United career short.
He has since played for Huddersfield, Aberdeen and Blackpool. He loves being one of the boys at WFA where he wants to coach and pass on his experience to the youngsters who hopefully will go on one day to achieve what he did.
Beedy
One of Erik's old team mates from the dim and distant past! Beedy works with the young six and seven year olds with a view to bringing through the next few under 9's teams for Wilmslow Town FC.
Sadly Beedy was brought up to support Manchester City. Never mind, at least he can see the youngsters he works with week in week out win medals and trophies!
Beedy also plays for Wilmslow Town Veterans (over35's) team so don't be surprised if you bring your youngster down on a Saturday morning and end up playing for the Vets on the Sunday afternoon yourself!
"Deano"
Deano is one of our junior coaches learning his trade with WFA. He is a central defender with Wilmslow Town and is currently on the books at Macclesfield Town, the club he supports.
Deano is one of the coaches with the very beginners at WFA looking after the development of the 4 - 6 year olds.
Callum
Callum has a wealth of experience in junior football that he passes down to the youngest members of WFA. Callum is currently bossing midfield with the youth team at Altrincham and is fighting for a place in the first team.
Playing for Wilmslow Albion FC, Callum was the youngest player ever to play for the 1st team in its 88 year history and with under 16's team he won more trophies than any other junior team player in Wilmslow.
He supports Manchester United and has enjoyed trial spells at Macclesfield Town, Stockport County, Manchester City and Oldham Athletic.
Danny Johnson
Danny is a former Barnsley trainee and currently plays for the Wilmslow Town Youth Team. Danny comes from a strong football family and is indeed the younger brother of our very own Tom!
Danny is a WFA new boy but already is becoming as popular as his old brother with the kids. He is one of our "Mercurial Skills" coaches and reportedly holds the school boy record for the highest number of keepy upies in England! Dan fancies himself as bit of a free-styler so next time you see him challenge him to a trick or two!
Jake O'Regan
WFA's Keeper Coach, Jake is in the England U18's squad! Jake also played for Erik from U9 to U16's. He started out as a striker but Erik spotted that he had the potential to do well as keeper. After much bemusement he reluctantly took the gloves and the rest is history as they say.
Jake has had spells at several clubs including Manchester City, Crewe and Oldham and is currently mulling over his options. He passes on his wealth of experience to the little stoppers at WFA.
Alex "Macca" McPherson
Macca is a qualified coach and plays for Wilmslow Towns u18 where he is Callum's partner in midfield. Macca coaches the 6 to 8 year olds and knows exactley what the gaffer wants from the lads as he used to play for Erik's under 9's team himself! How old does that make Erik then?
Alex can proudly boast that he is the top European goal scorer for any of Erik's team. When he was in the u13's he scored the teams one and only goal on a tour of Denmark. Not the most spectacular of efforts either. It went in following a deflection off his erm, backside!
